Designer To Watch: Faissal El- Malak

He is young, but he is definitely going places! One to watch, Faissal El-Malak, a Palestinian, Canadian Fashion designer, graduated from Parisian school Atelier Chardon Savard. As soon as we met and he showed me his work, I instantly felt inspired by his contemporary approach to fashion. 
This highly talented young designer's first collection debuted at both the Festimode Casablanca Fashion Week in April 2010 and the Fashion Festival of Carthage in Tunis in June 2010.

"This collection was mainly inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 2001 A space odyssey. The confrontation of the primitive organic world with the spacial, metalic, rigid world is translated in the clothes by the earth tone colors and the non-color black and white palette. This confrontation is also found in the draping and the use of more or less opaque fabrics." Faissal El-Malak.
